Terms and Conditions
The Comment Line Service (”Service”) is organised by or on behalf of 4 Ventures Limited and/or Channel Four Television Corporation of 124 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2YX, (”Channel 4″).
By participating in the Service you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
To participate in the Service call 0871 200 2844.
Callers from a BT landline will be charged a set-up fee of 7p per call plus 10p per minute. Mobile and other network rates will be higher. Check with your network operator before calling. After deduction of call and administration costs, if there are any profits these will be donated to charity.
During the programme if your call is not answered by a member of the production team you will be asked to leave a message. Outside of broadcast time all callers will be asked to leave a message.
Channel 4 may use your message during the programme and/or on the website and/or call you back to speak live on air during the programme, and/or invite you to participate as a member of the studio audience but it is at Channel 4’s sole discretion and Channel 4 have no responsibility to you if your comment is not used for whatever reason and you are not entitled to any refund.
The content you submit must not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or any other rights of any third party and will not contain anything which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening. If you post an offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, abusive or otherwise unlawful or distasteful message Channel 4 reserves the right not to display such message, at its sole discretion.
If you are not the bill payer you must get permission from the bill payer before phoning.
Channel 4 may suspend, withdraw or cancel the Service for any reason at its sole discretion and at any time.
Channel 4, its group companies and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem in any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any calls being lost or not properly recorded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Channel 4 hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liability (whether express or implied) regarding the Service.
Any personal data collected will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. Please see Channel 4’s [Privacy Policy] for further details.
Channel 4 reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on this website and such posting shall be adequate notice to all participants.
Each participant acknowledges that his or her name may appear with their message.
Channel 4 owns all copyright and other intellectual property rights associated with the Service.
Channel 4 may remove your messages and prevent you from participating in the Service if you breach any of these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law.
