… who might be interested.
So what do I want to do? In a nutshell, I want to change the face of British TV. I want it to reflect all of us, not just some of us. That’s why I’m really pleased it’s Channel 4’s job to chair the industry’s taskforce on these matters. I don’t underestimate the job ahead, but our ‘ Diversity Pledge ’ is making great strides in the …

… so when the recent Dispatches film – Inside Britain’s Israel Lobby – attracted a great number of positive comments, I decided to deliver these personally to Kevin Sutcliffe, Channel 4’s deputy head of news and current affairs and the person responsible for the Dispatches strand.

… in the near future. The statistic that intrigued us was the fact that over 50 per cent of the British citizens would like the death penalty re-introduced.”
HM: “We wanted to make the viewers think hard about what they really feel about the death penalty, and leave the reaction to the viewer – the drama offers no easy answers about the issue. Some have asked why we didn’t continue the film beyond the execution to hear the views of the Home Secretary, journalists etc. We …

… above all real, so we believe in the characters. The directors Amanda Boyle and Miranda Bowen drew great performances from our actors and made it look stunning.
Well, it certainly got noticed! I’m delighted with the critical reaction and the comments from viewers of the first two episodes; I’d love to know what you think. And if it brings more work for disabled actors (and writers) in TV dramas across the industry, I’ll be one happy disabled disability advisor.

… documentary about young children with gender dysphoria. It was a fascinating film that prompted a great deal of comment amongst viewers, both online and through C4’s viewer enquiries.
Though many expressed praise for the programme, a significant number of viewers were critical of its narration – specifically, the way in which the narrator often referred to the children by their birth gender, rather than their preferred gender.
