An announcement is now expected tonight saying that David Wilshire is standing down as an MP at the general election. A Conservative party source has already confirmed this evening that he will do so.

One senior Tory source I spoke to said Mr Wilshire had been “seriously thinking about standing down” anyway – that’ll be news to some in his constituency association, who thought he had every intention of staying on.

This morning Tory high command said that Mr Wilshire would be given a few days to find his paperwork and make his own case for why he was paying his office allowance into a company he owned.

But Team Cameron has decided a burst of ruthlessness is needed here. Mr Wilshire has been invited to announce his intention to stand down at the election to take some of the sting out of the story.

This will also further burnish Mr Cameron’s credentials as the “get tough,” “I really get it” candidate in the expenses saga.

- One week of the Commons back at work has clearly been enough for me! Just taking a short break – back in a few days’ time.

Not really a surprise. Perhaps he’s been offered a ‘nice little earner/golden goodbye’?
His arrogance personified the type of people that have entered politics over the decades.
Politics is so full of sleeze and, distrusted by the public, because of the collosal magnitude of the fraud, lies, spin, inequalities, hatred causings, etc. that’s taken place over the last few decades.
It won’t be long now before the Tories have a bunch of snouts in the golden trough of goodies. Behind closed doors of course!

Still just the tip of the iceberg I reckon.

Some MP’s have been clearly caught with their hands in the till, milking the system for all it is worth, but I’d also like somebody to have a good hard look at some of the other professions too.

MP’s are a trifle unfortunate perhaps, that their system was a natural target for close scrutiny. I’m not sure about the mechanics of how the other professions might be subject to the same sort of scrutiny as MP’s, but its worth doing and I’d be very interested to see the results…

I’m sure they’ve all been hiding their ill gotten gains after the corrupt MPs got exposed.
There are plenty of other institutions that are just the same. Try the BBC. This corporation uses our money from the dictatorial licence fees to secretly pay fat-cat Executive lucrative rennumerations and bonuses. These scum are well connected with the British Government, bankers and aristocracy. The personification of what’s terrible in this world of greed, corruption, arrogance, collusions, indiferences, hatred causings, etc.

This modish expression ” he/she gets it ” is gathering momentum . Everybody seems to get it and I don’t.

E.G. What is politics ?..Institutions , party politics, global politics, gender politics, office politics.. reporter politics ad infinitum?

There is corruption in all walks of life and ‘The Power Game ‘ infiltrates every aspect of human life.

Like a game of chess we know which move has been made and why ,,then understand the countermove required to trigger another move.

Different levels of good to bad will impact on these moves and the degree of impact dictates the amount of suffering to be caused. I just dont get it.
