Islamic law was a welcome change from the barbaric tribal rules of various Arabian tribes. But that was 12 centuries ago. It is sad that there are parts of the world that are not much different than they were a thousand years ago. We should not focus on their barbaric practices, but rather on our failure to usher these parts of the world into the 21st century along with us.

Quran does not have any such punishments then why are they followed in nations practicing Islam. So much of your quotes from Bible where do you see those implemented. Talk practical. Also are any of the Taleban even educated in Islamic jurispudence, that they can decide the law and punishment according to Sharia law?

the main thing to be seen here really is that the taliban is like a disease…growing in afghanistan and slowly infiltrating Pakistan. Will Pakistan be the new Afghanistan? We shall hope not. The Paki gov should really see what the impacts of creating an afghanistan will do to its country…not only in terms of war but because of war a deterioration in economy, development, technology, education (the main getaway and solution to the Muslim backwardness). All of this has been recently made better by Pakistan..they should definitely not mess this up.
And really…today it’s one woman…tomorrow…the entire country’s women will be forced to wear burkhas and be beat for talking to a man. Where is the justice and equality in that? This is exactly how Afghanistan’s situation started and we saw what it evolved into. Catching this on video is the first step to making everyone aware of what cruel activities are occurring in Pakistan.

I agree with Michelle! Did this child actually commit adultry? Was it through masturbation? If not, where is the man involved? In the caste of on-lookers maybe? Why do women always have to carry the burden of men’s sexual desires, cruelty, anger and self-loathing. Men commit the unspeakable acts; women suffer for them. Yes, it happens in the USA also; just not on that level. Most would be afraid to go to sleep if they did!
