Mobile phone footage of a teenage girl being flogged publicly in Pakistan’s Swat Valley is now circulating widely (Google News brings up 89 results at the time of writing – probably far more by the time you read this).
Some viewers may find images in the video below distressing.
Part of this footage was used last month in a Channel 4 News report from the Taliban-controlled area. The report starts with scenes we filmed of a man accused of having gay sex being flogged in public, followed by the now-famous mobile phone footage of the young woman being held down and beaten outside her home for alleged adultery.

Don’t forget that it is the women who are mainly responsible for the islamization of europe because they wote like they do and thereby open our borders wide towards africa and arabia. What is needed is for the Pakistani military to be purged of Taliban sympathizers, then given full support to engage in a pincers attack in the area to annihilate and or capture for trial all identifiable Taliban and Al Queda members. If this is not done, the viability of the Pakistani government will be threatened and with it the control of its nukes.

This teenager was not accused of adultery. She was caught talking to a boy. The penalty for adultery is death by stoning or hanging, even in a case of rape.

I am not entirely against corporal punishment, but only for violent, un-repented crimes; I would think that it is better that sending some teenagers to jail. But the taliban are truly stuck in the middle ages: favor men against the women, their teachers teach killing, the perpetuation of ignorance and violence: they only love power and worship for themselves, and miss-interpret the scriptures. I was borne in Afghanistan and what I learn is to respect women, we were taught to be helpful to women and children, if there is a disaster we must firs help women and children even if we lost our own life. That is what our grand father and grand mother taught. Why people from the same area and from the same culture turn to complete opposite direction? What is the reason?
I think the solution is that India attack Pakistan, get rid of all the hardliners in army and politics…then put some intelligent person in-charge for a few years…

I dont know what was going on there in the video and neither i am defecding those people in any kind of way one could imagine, yet i would like to add that if for the sake of discussion, we take that part aside from that act, those who are calling it a barbarian act are infact trying to imply that Islam and Quran’s Teachings are barbaric and does not comply with the civilized world. the main thing to be seen here really is that the taliban is like a disease…growing in afghanistan and slowly infiltrating Pakistan. Will Pakistan be the new Afghanistan? We shall hope not. The Paki gov should really see what the impacts of creating an afghanistan will do to its country…not only in terms of war but because of war a deterioration in economy, development, technology, education (the main getaway and solution to the Muslim backwardness). All of this has been recently made better by Pakistan..they should definitely not mess this up.
And really…today it’s one woman…tomorrow…the entire country’s women will be forced to wear burkhas and be beat for talking to a man. Where is the justice and equality in that? This is exactly how Afghanistan’s situation started and we saw what it evolved into. Catching this on video is the first step to making everyone aware of what cruel activities are occurring in Pakistan.

Islamic law was a welcome change from the barbaric tribal rules of various Arabian tribes. But that was 12 centuries ago. It is sad that there are parts of the world that are not much different than they were a thousand years ago. We should not focus on their barbaric practices, but rather on our failure to usher these parts of the world into the 21st century along with us.
I think that the Muslim woman should all be armed with AK-47 assault rifles and sent home to thier beloved husbands, brothers and father’s… we should blow up the western mountain range between Afganistan and Pakistan! Set these woman free!
