Comments on: Pakistan-style attacks ‘could happen in Europe’

Mr Ahmed Rashid’s comments on the present situation in Pakistan are quite thought provoking. MY question is —-What is the reason behind the spreading of extremism, fascism and such terrorist attacks all over the world. Did we go wrong somewhere? And what is the solution to the problem.

I thought setting up an area that the Taliban would run is a good idea provided those who didn’t want to live under their rule could leave freely. I understand this would be a terrible trial on those who wanted to leave forced to live elsewhere. I wouldn’t want to live under Taliban rule.
If enough people left such an area as I expect would happen perhaps then the case could be put to the Taliban that their system is supported only by a minority this having consequences for the Taliban.

Also found myself wondering what I would do if caught-up in such a situation. Hope it’s never put to the test of course, but I’ve worked out what I would do if caught-up in something like that. No use leaving such issues until the spur of the moment. Important to have thought about it beforehand…
