Win products from the new 4oD ad
Update:
This competition is closed. The lucky winners of the commercial spot products were Vivienne White, Marcia Soares, Martin Taylor, Val Hunt and Lorraine Foster.
You may have noticed a new campaign to promote the 4oD service on channel4.com, which now includes every programme from our archive, as well as the 30-day catch up window that was available previously on the website. The trailer for the campaign was produced in house by our 4Creative team, and managed by Marie Corin in the marketing team. It was a monumental effort, with a supermarket’s worth of products actually designed and manufactured that promote a range of Channel 4’s programmes in the trail. These include How Clean Is You House detergent sprayers, Desperate Housewives sun tan creme bottle, cans of Shameless lager, and Scrubs scouring pads, to name just a few.
To celebrate its launch, and to give you the chance to win a product from the shoot, I thought we’d start a Twitter hashtag meme competition, which can also be played in the comments of this blog post. It’s simple: just post 140 characters that describe your favourite 4oD programme, with a link to the show in the new 4oD area of channel4.com, plus – if you’re using Twitter – the reference #favourite4od. That way, I’ll be able to track your tweets around the game, and choose the lucky winners. If you’re posting your favourites in the comment below, there’s no need to use the hashtag.
We’ll select a handful of tweeters or commenters to receive a product from the shoot. So to be in with a chance to grab a can of Big Bro baked beans or a stick of Bear Grylls Arctic Cool lip balm, start posting your links to your favourite 4oD gems now!

I think that Peep Show is the best programme on 4oD because it just never (ever) fails to make me laugh, with it’s quailty one liners, and also it’s unique filming. I love it when you can hear Jez and Marks thought as voiceovers, I just think that it is so funny. In the early episodes where Mark get’s terrorised by a bunch of kids is just such a stand out moment, for me anyway. I just think Peep Show is brilliant.

Drop the Dead Donkey. Rants, reports, sweepstakes, cardigans, complaints and management-speak. Classic 90s comedy. Just hilarious. Love it!!

Deal or No Deal – A great concept and a great show, you almost feel you can influence what is in the box before it’s opened – so switch on the box and watch the boxes perform their magic……

I watched the last series of Shameless almost entirely on 4OD. Without it I’d have missed most of it as I kept going out and forgetting that it was on that night.
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/shameless/4od#2918531 – that’ll do it!

I think that Peep Show is the best programme on 4oD because of the quality of comedy that is in the programme. Not only is Peep Show comic genius, but the camera work and production of the programme is such a marvel. The close up camera shots, the quick glances at objects and interests of the characters, the intelligently added voiceovers and the view of situations by the eyes of Mark and Jeremy. It is really hard to choose the best episode from all five of the series, if I had to it would be series 1 episode 2 when Mark forces Jeremy to get a job at JLB. I love the way Robert makes his excuses in order not to get the job without upsetting the “Land Barron”. Peep Show is technically and comical greatness at its very best.

July 10, 2009
The Inbetweeners is the funniest thing ive ever seen!
July 11, 2009
The IT Crowd without a doubt. In fact – just writing this has made me want to watch it again! So I will – thanks for that!
July 11, 2009
i love to watch deal or no deal as i’m fascinatated that such a simple concept can be so compelling to tune into. noel’s daily banter with the banker is hilarious but the real stars of the show are the members of the public who compete against the odds to try to change their lives simply by predicting what amount their box contains. the tension is rivetting as they await the breaking of the seals to be greeted by applause or silence and their fellow contestants genuinely feel for them every time a dream is broken.

This is a difficult choice between peep show and countdown, I’ve no idea which I preferr. What a quadry, although I do need toilet paper!
July 11, 2009
The best on 4OD with out a doubt has to be The Inbetweeners, this is one of the most funny comedies I have ever watched, thanks C4 for bringing it to our screens.
July 11, 2009
Come on! Some programmes are riveting but get with it and groove with Jon Snow’s socks…

I love 4od, and particularly the entire selection of river cottage with hugh fearnley whittingstall: mainly because my boyfriend will watch it with me and totally enjoy it, but not whisper a word to his mates…true love. The random documentaries about cat fanatics and monkey babies are also top entertainment!
July 12, 2009
come dine with me – I want to see the out-takes where people hate each other and kick em out of the house or throw moussaka over the host..or serve up pot noodle (at my house!)
July 12, 2009
My favourite 4OD show is Ugly Betty (Y) I think it’s funny and can be exciting as well. Especially lately with all the drama that’s been going on. It rocks

Derren Brown is defiantly the best!! He is amazing and I am always left astounded, amazed, baffled and slightly freaked out by his “tricks” (Séance was defiantly the scariest!) Totally diggin’ that mind-controlling, devil-bearded, mentalist!! GO DERREN BROWN!!!!!! I am grateful that I can watch all his shows over and over and over again!! Thanks 4OD!!
July 12, 2009
I give you Kurt, Bryan, and Simon, the three best mates i never had… Teachers, because smoking is still cool. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/teachers (ALTHOUGH IT DOES HAVE TO BE SAID THAT GETTING RID OF THE THREE BEST CHARACTERS BY THE END OF SERIES THREE WAS A REALLY BAD DECISION, LIKE THE WORST DECISION EVER EVER EVER SINCE SIMON DUMPED THE HOT GIRL IN SERIES 1. RESSURECT THEM NOW!)

4oD fulfils all nutritional and bodily requirements: The IT Crowd for belly laughs, The Inbetweeners for buttock clenching, Ugly Betty for mouth-gaping giggles, Desperate Housewives for body envy and subsequent cross-trainer addiction.
July 13, 2009
Many years ago you had a magic show which was like no other I have seen before, or since. Unfortunately the name escapes me ( senior moments)it was something like ”The secret ****** ” but I think Simon ? starred in and helped produce it. It was truly scary and so well done – my favourite being when he spun round on the blade of a large sword then slowly sank down to the hilt of it… effectively impaled on the blade. Unbelievable.
July 13, 2009
The Secret Cabaret !!!! With Simon Drake – utterly brilliant and worth a repeat
July 13, 2009
“Coach Trip” is my must watch every week. Brenden is a real star and how he keeps his cool with some of the travellers is beyond belief. I wouldn’t have problems voting some of them off.
July 13, 2009
my favourite programme on 4od is queer as folk. its an amazing cult show and i love it.
i love the plot twists and fast paced nature. i love stuart’s unpredictability and vince’s luck with love. it had amazing monologues, it raised issues and it caused controversy. there’s nothing like it in the world.
July 13, 2009
There is no other Big Brother
July 13, 2009
The Home show is great and the guy behind the designs is pretty hot too!
July 13, 2009
Derren Brown! anything branded with any of his series’, and if there wasn’t any used in the shoot, I know that he was, he was pushing the trolly. So if you could send him, I could think of many day to day uses for him, first to the casino! http://www.channel4.com/programmes/derren-brown/episode-guide/series-4/episode-6

My favourite program on 4OD has to be Ugly Betty. She’s unique, quirky & loyal so when I miss her vibrant outfits, 4OD is amazing. LOVE IT! http://www.channel4.com/programmes/ugly-betty/4od
July 14, 2009
Peep Show! I’ve been with it since the beginning, and it’s still painfully funny. I hope it lasts for a while. I would love some Peep Show loo roll – I won’t even use it! http://www.channel4.com/programmes/peep-show
July 14, 2009
The Inbetweeners is the most hilarious comedy programme I have ever seen! There’s no limit to the number of times I can watch it & it still makes me laugh. Thanks for making it possible 4oD for me to have the laugh of my life from this programme!!! (”,) x
July 15, 2009
Just loving 4OD can go away at anytime and know I won’t miss any of my fav programmes due to rescheduling or poor signal. Complete peace of mind and a whole lot of entertainment to come home to. Viewer comments are also good as it entices you into the greater depths of 4OD to find MORE to watch.
July 16, 2009
4OD provides me with constant Cookie Love! Skins is the best programme available, clearly!
July 18, 2009
Any chance of Channel Four Films not repeating the same movies for the LAST two years since pay ch4 movies finished and show many other classic Brit Flicks, like ‘The Fruit Machine’ ‘Priest’ etc! Thanks, Peepshow, a scream!!
July 19, 2009
My favourite 4od programme has to be Come Dine With Me. As there are so many different series being shown on Channel 4 and More 4, it can be hard to keep up with the episodes, so I just use 4od instead. This way I can watch as many episodes as I want, when I want. And Come Dine With Me is just amazing
August 4, 2009
Top of my list of things to do when i have a spare moment recently is catching up with episodes of Will and Grace on 4oD. You can sit down to watch one episode and 5 or 6 later you realise it’s time to go to bed
