What TV shows are on 4oD?
Over the past two months, we’ve been busily migrating thousands of hours of TV shows from the 4oD application onto the new channel4.com. It would be impossible to migrate all our archive shows at once so we have chosen a selection of the most requested titles and most popular genres. From today, around 4,000 hours of programmes will be making their way onto the service, including:
- Comedy – such as Peep Show, Black Books, Green Wing, Drop the Dead Donkey, Balls of Steel, Smack the Pony, Comic Strip Presents and Spaced
- Groundbreaking documentary – The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off, Richard Dawkins’ The Root of All Evil?, numerous Nick Broomfield films including The Leader, His Driver and the Driver’s Wife and Biggie and Tupac; plus must-see Dispatches from down the years
- Entertaining factual shows – several series of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, back to the beginning of Grand Designs, Come Dine with Me, How to Look Good Naked, Supernanny, Jamie’s Kitchen
- Classic drama – from GBH to Porterhouse Blue and The Camomile Lawn; Dennis Potter’s Lipstick on your Collar, Russell T Davies’ Queer as Folk, Julie Burchill’s Sugar Rush, plus all three series of Skins.
I’m trying to avoid starting each sentence with “award winning” and ending it with “and many more”. However it is difficult to list just a few examples of the best of Channel 4’s archive, given the wealth and richness of the programmes on offer. Use the search box on the 4oD landing page or alternatively browsing alphabetically or by genre (both are available on our programmes page) to find classic titles.
We’ll add shows to 4oD on channel4.com throughout the year, so please keep coming back regularly as we’ll be adding new titles each week. As expected, there will be disappointments that shows you’d like to see aren’t currently available (and please be aware that there will always be a set of programmes we can’t put onto 4oD).
If you’ve got a show you’d love to see that isn’t on the site, please let us know below and we’ll try and prioritise the most requested titles, or let you know if there are any availability issues.

Will the 4oD application continue to be available with the archived content until it’s all been moved to the online service, or will this be closed down before the changeover process has finished?
June 28, 2009
I really hope the documentary section gets more titles as channel 4 always has the best docs and there are still loads I have not seen yet, but they are not available.. e.g. Surfwise. Update the documentary section it is the best aspect of channel 4.
June 29, 2009
just wondering if shows like the big breakfast & RI:SE will be available anytime, i would like to see those again as they obviously had good guests on and interviews get lost in time.
June 30, 2009
Could you please put Hill Street Blues on ASAP as I was half way though watching all of the episodes (I was up tp EP 73) and I’m getting withdrawal symptoms.
thanks
June 30, 2009
I missed the broadcasting of Jamie’s Fowl dinners as well as other parts of the Food Fight Series. Please add them to the archives if at all possible.
June 30, 2009
Hi all, thanks for your comments, here are some answers to you questions.
Lisa – glad you like our documentaries! Unfortunately we aren’t putting Surfwise onto 4oD, although there are a lot to go onto the service in the next weeks and months.
Mick – we’d love to put some episodes of the Big Breakfast online, however as a live programme there are just so many episodes and is hard to find a couple of classics. If you can remember a couple you’d like to see again, let us know.
Gray – good knews, Hill Street Blues is on the list to publish onto 4oD, so I’ll get these prioritised and they should go up in the next few days/weeks.
Liz – some of the Big Food Fight shows are online already – Hugh’s Chicken Run, http://www.channel4.com/programmes/hughs-chicken-run/4od; Big Chef Takes on Little Chef http://www.channel4.com/programmes/big-chef-takes-on-little-chef/4od. Jamie’s Fowl Dinners is due to go live tomorrow.

Will any old (preferbly complete) series of Big Brother appear on 4oD?
And as for The Big Breakfast – first and last episodes of the key presenters would be a great start.
June 30, 2009
I’d like to see some Big Breakfast online. Episodes i’d go for are the first episode in 1992, Gaby Roslin’s last show, Chris Evan’s last show, the comic relif special they did in 1995, the 1st birthday episode in 1993, the 1000th episode in 1996, the 2000th episode in May 2000, the biggest breakfast ever, the end of the year show 1992. The list could go on but i’d like to see these again.
July 1, 2009
Will there be any Graham Norton online (preferably So and V plus the specials in Dollywood and Japan etc.)?
July 1, 2009
classic rI:se i dont know of any but the RI:se april fools day episode from 2003 it must have been there were some funny stories on if i remember it right. Rise with Kyle Gass and Jack Black on it (Tenacious D!!!) and the one with ewan mcgregor????
as for big breakfast anything with zig and zag was brilliant.
July 1, 2009
Is there such a thing as “classic RI:SE”?
Would be good to see some of the less obvious episodes from The BIg Breakfast too – perhaps ones with guest hosts or ones with big guests of their time.
July 2, 2009
Grateful if you would upload Pagans to the new 4oD library. It was available before and it is an excellent, thought-provoking programme. I look forward to seeing it back soon as I would dealy love to watch it again. Thank you.
July 2, 2009
Was just wondering if you will be backdating all your old programmes like in the 4OD application. I noticed that only the last 30 days of Will & Grace is available and I was only upto season 2! Will you be uploading all past 6 seasons?
July 3, 2009
Is there any chance that we can look forward to seeing “Chance in a Million” on 4od. If I recall correctly three series were made and broadcast by Channel 4.
Regards, Seymour
July 3, 2009
I too would like to see some episodes of The Big Breakfast. Also, are you planning on including more episodes of Brookside than the few that are already listed???
July 3, 2009
As an afterthought, I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the classic episodes of Big Brother / Celebrity Big Brother and how about some episodes of The Crystal Maze. It’s good to see that full series of such great comedy shows as Desmonds and Whose Line is it Anyway are available to stream.
July 3, 2009
http://www.channel4.com/learning/microsites/I/ideasfactory/musicality/index_real.html
Please please please let’s get to see the original reality singing/dancing programme again!!
Would love to see these again – one of my favourite quotes was something along the lines of “you lot look like you’re auditioning for the Douglas Barder School of Dance”… classic!
July 4, 2009
Hi I was wandering as you have the first 2 episodes of bear grylls born survivor available to watch and the new series is on telly now, when if at all possible would it be coming on to the 4od service?
July 4, 2009
GamesMaster please!
July 4, 2009
This is potentially an amazing thing but it is very frustrating to use to try and browse for something to watch from the archive. If you have something specific in mind you can search for that but, if not, you have to wade through pages and pages of programmes in the a to z or programme type indices. Most of these aren’t available to watch and there doesn’t appear to be a way to filter to just show available programmes. I hope this is something you are working on.
July 6, 2009
@ Alex Little . Yes. We are working on ways to show only the programmes for which 4oD is available.
When the service was Catch-Up only we had a drop-down list of all available shows which was simple and very popular. But now we’ve added the Archive the list’s way too long … !
Thanks for your comment.
July 6, 2009
Just have a list of correct shows
July 6, 2009
@Supakeyboard. Yes, a list. But it’’s already about 500 programmes long and it’s going to get much longer. We met today to agree (a) how to lay it out so we don’t need to change it again any time soon (b) how people will be able to get to it and (c) what views of the data we should enable.
July 7, 2009
Hi all, sorry it has taken a few days to come back to you.
Scott – good news, there is a whole host of Graham Norton programmes due to go online, including several Christmas specials plus series 5 of V Graham Norton. I’ll get these prioritised and hopefully they’ll be online in the next few weeks.
Thanks for all the details of what you’d like to see from both the Big Breakfast and Ri:se. I’ll come back to you in the next few days on these and all the other programme requests. Please keep them coming!
July 7, 2009
Hi Jen
Sorry to repeat myself like some kind of person that repeats themselves… but there was over 120 shows of GamesMaster, so if I had to ‘favourite’ any, Series 2 would be fantastic. Thanks!
Any classic TFI Friday shows would be great too, by the way!
July 7, 2009
Hi Patrick – Funnily enough we were having just this conversation wondering where to start with GamesMaster as there are so many episodes! I’ll pass on your thoughts on series 2.
July 8, 2009
Gamesmaster….please please please…That show was a massive part of my childhood as well as several of my friends. There hasnt been a decent gaming show since….oh actually while your there could you throw up Thumb Bandits and Bits….? And I think all seasons of Gamesmaster are equally important….well maybe not the Dexter Fletcher one…
July 8, 2009
You Are What You Eat has to be a modern classic… There are some episodes up at the moment but would love more!
July 9, 2009
Hi all
So, a few programme updates. Scott – you asked about the Graham Norton the specials from Dollywood and Japan – yes, we should be able to put these online, we’ll add them to the list.
For Lee and Patrick – we are currently looking at GamesMaster to see if we can get series 2 onto 4oD as a start – will let you know when we know if we can or not. I’ll also check Thumb Bandits and Bits.
Seymour – unfortunately we don’t have the rights to put Chance in a Million online. And Rachel BR, nor can we put the back catalogue for Will and Grace. We can’t put Crystal Maze online either. Apologies.
Matthew – we are looking into some of the other Bear Grylls programmes for Channel 4, but we can’t publish Born Survivor.
B – yes, Musicality is available to go onto c4.com, so we will add that to the list too. Jude – Pagans is also due to go online soon to, I’ll get them prioritised for you.
Suzie – there are more episodes due for You Are What You Eat, they should be popping up online over the next months.
For Brookside, could you let me know of a couple of episodes you’d like to see? As you can imagine, there are lots of them to go through, so some pointers would be great.
As for Big Brother, we are looking into that just now, and will get back to you.
Regards, Jen
July 9, 2009
Thanks Jen – appreciate the speedy reply!
July 9, 2009
Random wish list…
Underworld (the drama serial, obviously)
4 Computer Buffs (tech nostalgia)
Who Dares Wins (the sketch show, obviously)
July 10, 2009
Thanks Jen!
Cant wait to check out Gamesmaster again. I think I cried at the last ever episode of Gamesmaster, Dominik Diamond looked like he waa geniunly upset too, bring it back!
July 10, 2009
I wish to make a comment on a Doco that was shown on ABC Australia last night 9/7/09 on the diggings at Glenrowan Victoria for things related to Ned Kelly and his final stand against police. It was compared by Tony Robinson from Time Team and I loved it. I watch the show each week and love Tony and his love of the work he does.
They found some interesting objects including bullet casings that they think came from Ned’s gun.
Keep up the good work Time Team
July 10, 2009
Hi jen
how about the big breakfast and rise? no updates there?
also will all the ” gordon ramsay f Word” series be available?
please try really hard to get gamesmaster on, i loved that show too.
July 10, 2009
sorry for the double post
the tony robinson programme the da vinci code. it was on Ch4 right around the time of the hullabaloo with the book. i think it was a pretty long show, but it was very interesting. As we know Tony Robinson is a national treasure, i would gladly watch him talking about paint drying for an hour and a half.
July 10, 2009
Hi,
Firstly, let me congratulate you on launching this service at all; all broadcasters should recognise the value of its archive content and make as much of it available to the public as they possibly can – because with sites like YouTube around, the public will just do it for them if they don’t.
On that subject, I was interested to see your comment, Jen, that “there will always be a set of programmes we can’t put onto 4oD”; can you be a bit more specific about what sets of programmes you can’t include and why, i.e. if it’s just down to the whims of individual independent production companies allowing and not allowing their shows to be included?
I have a couple of bugbears with the system, however; as mentioned above, it’s frustrating to trawl through the A-Z pages and see that a lot of the programmes aren’t on 4oD, but the thing that annoys me the most is having to check the box marked ‘I am over 18′ every time I go to the site to see a programme for a mature audience.
I appreciate the fact that you want to stop minors watching inappropriate content, but you’ve also got to bear in mind that there are lots of people who just use their PC themselves, so would there be no possibility of enabling 4oD to put a cookie on your system when you’ve just ticked the ‘over 18′ box for the first time?
Anyway, other than that, it’s a terrific service, so keep up the good work and the uploading of programmes.
PS: Put me down as another person who’d like to see classic episodes of the Big Breakfast.
July 11, 2009
It seems strange that Channel 4 all but gave up the 4OD brand 12 months ago and now have reintroduced it by sticking the words ‘Catch Up’ on the end. Does this have anything to do with the failure of Project Kangaroo per chance???
In a time when the company makes so much noise about their dire finanical situation; bad management have wasted millions of pounds on mothballing a previously successful download service, a massive marketing campaign for Channel 4 Catch Up and a new website that is missing the brand essence of the core TV brand.
July 11, 2009
What about the very long and best American series The Sopranos? Plus, Stargate SG-1? Vintage Oprah shows? Roseanne? etc, etc, Will it be possible to eventually include any of these in the 4oD archives?
July 12, 2009
I fondly remember St. Elsewhere, an american hospital drama which was educatioanal as well. It introduced AIDS, bulemia, tourettes amongst others to the (amazed) British public. It really was unmissable. I remember that when we moved to this region in 1983 we didn’t get C4 at first……. seems unbelievable now ! Without doubt C4 is my favourite channel and the one I watch most, as it has always had cutting edge drama, documentaries, comedy and the best in imported quality shows from America.
July 12, 2009
Oh, and P.S.
I remember how Brookside always showed the continuing aftermath of grief, unlike other progs or soaps which seem to forget who ‘died’ after a few months. Near the end of the series when everyone was moving away, there was a very moving scene with Ron looking around the Close and seeing his children as they had been when they arrived and we the audience knowing that they had been killed. I’m not ashamed to say I had to reach for the tissues . It has stayed with me, as all great performances and writing does.
Fantastic scriptwriting.
July 12, 2009
As well as Brookie some earlier Hollyoaks would be good too – especially the late night specials.
Must say there is much more going up than I thought, but along with 4oD, it would be good to see a bit more of the classic content crop up on More4 too.
July 13, 2009
The old 4OD program seemed much easier to browse for free shows ready to watch than channel4.com and full series were available.
No new Big Bang Theory episodes from the last few weeks have been added even though a few have been shown. If I search and go to the Big Bang Theory page new episodes are listed but when I select to watch I can only watch two of the older episodes.
July 13, 2009
Great to see old school Channel 4 programmes online – the Beeb should really take a leaf out of your book for their back catalogue.
What i’d love to see is Clive Anderson Talks Back – I know there’s 10 series worth so i don’t know how many episodes there were, but a couple of highlights included the Peter Cook special and when Bjork and Robin Williams were on. But ideally, i’d like to see the episodes i missed – perhaps the first few series.
Big Breakfast is a good shout – Johnny Vaughn was great on it, as he was on Movie Watch so some of that would be good. I remember one episode where he interviewed Damon Albarn about the film ‘Face’ where he got a particularly cold reception…
Would also look forward to Games Master – from my memory Dominik Diamond came into his element a couple of series in so the later series with him would be good.
Brass Eye is another obvious ommission – although i’m wondering if there’s some legal issues around that?
Northern Exposure would be cool too if there’s no copyright issues.
July 14, 2009
Hi all
Afraid I don’t yet have an update on Big Brother, Big Breakfast or Ri:se – takes a wee while to find out this information. However, I do have some other updates!
Paul Rhodes – Underworld is on the list to migrate, it will pop-up on the site in the next weeks or month or so. I’ll add both 4 Computer Buffs and Who Dares Wins to the list to check whether we can put them online.
Mick – We’ve got most of four series of Gordon Ramsay’s F Word here: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/gordon-ramsays-f-word/4od and the rest will be added over the next weeks and months. I’ve added the Tony Robinson programme on the Da Vinci Code onto the list to explore whether we can put it back online – will give you an update once I know the answer!
Jason Crawley – thanks for the feedback on using the site. Yes, agree that we could make improvements to how you find programmes, there are plans underway to improve how you can find what is available on 4oD. About the age confirmation check box, if a user has declared that they are over 18, they will not have to make that declaration again within that session (until they close the browser). There are no plans to change this age confirmation box at the moment.
There are many reasons we might not be able to put a programme online, ranging from we don’t have the rights or clearances, to there being logistical or editorial reasons. For example, a programme might include footage that hasn’t been cleared for use online. In other instances, the programmes were broadcast live, and therefore it is a considerable amount of effort to re-cut the live programmes to create versions that are suitable for 4oD. We do our best to put programmes online, however the reality is there will always be some programmes we can’t publish.
Ali – it was always our intention to have a comprehensive VOD service that included archive as well as catch-up programming as part of Project Kangaroo, which we still believe would have been a fantastic service that offered clear benefits to UK viewers as well as providing a valuable opportunity for Channel 4. However, once it became clear that the Competition Commission were not going to allow Project Kangaroo to go-ahead we immediately decided to press ahead with our plans using 4oD. We are now the only UK broadcaster to offer catch-up and archived programming to users that is free, streamed and on-demand and we are very proud of the service.
Ann – I’m afraid that it is unlikely we’ll be able to put many archive US shows online anytime soon. However, (for Margaret Hardy who also asked about this series), we do have St Elsewhere http://www.channel4.com/programmes/st-elsewhere and Hill Street Blues available http://www.channel4.com/programmes/hill-street-blues
Brekkie – thanks for the mention of Hollyoaks, I’ll add that to the list of shows to explore. We do put up shows from More4 as well as E4 and Channel 4, so if there are any programmes in particular you are looking for, please let me know!
Adam McGoode – I’ll check out what’s happening with Big Bang Theory.
James Heal – thanks for your suggestions, I’ll add Clive Anderson Talks Back (think we’ve got all the others on the list to find out more details!). Unfortunately, Northern Exposure won’t be possible.
Brass Eye isn’t on the service now, but should be there in the next few days. Keep an eye on here for when it arrives http://www.channel4.com/programmes/brass-eye
Regards, Jen
July 14, 2009
I thought 4OD was great and was surprised when the change was announced. I always found that it was much quicker and easier than BBC iplayer. Unfortunatly the new setup doesn’t navigate so easily with all the free and otherwise material mixxed up, it also is much slower for me. I don’t know whether this is a teething problem or all the mac users suddenly crowding my viewing time but I hope it improves as time passes, since at the moment it’s very frustrating not being ably to watch some of my fav progs. I shall continue to persist and don’t worry I do pay for stuff on the odd occasion but I’m missing valued viewing time. Come on C4 do me proud.
Oli
Oh and more documentaries free please, otherwise I may have to resort to terestrial tv and start watching ITV… na just kidding I’m not that desperate.
July 14, 2009
Oliver – there’s nothing to pay for on Channel4.com/4oD. It’s all free to view.
There are lots of free documentaries available. Browse through them here (the ones with the 4oD badge are the ones you can watch online): http://www.channel4.com/programmes/tags/documentaries .
Thanks for your feedback.
July 15, 2009
Has all paid content now been dropped, like Film4 OD and the stuff from guest channels like National Geographic and FX?
July 15, 2009
Really enjoying browsing the new 4OD but I’ll second those asking for far more Brookside. For a show spanning 21 years it’s disappointing to see its legacy reduced to the first episode and the lesbian kiss. Ideally I’d say pick out a couple of episodes for each year that it ran, up to 1999-2000 ish when it hit the skids.
Better still, it’d be nice to see some of the five-nights-a-week specials. They used to make these once or twice a year during the show’s mid-90s heyday to draw attention to high-profile storylines/characters like the Jordaches (1994/5), the incestuous Simpson family (1996/7) and Jimmy Corkhill’s drug addiction. They were usually on around Christmas or the summer, I think, and were always great to watch.
July 16, 2009
And talking of Christmas, in it’s final few years Brookside often did a 90-minute post watershed Christmas special. The final episode would be good too – indeed when it switched to it’s 90-minute format it did pick up towards the end.
A lot of the one of pilots would be good too – as well as Comedy Lab and Coming Up, the older strands such as Shockers would be nice to have available once again.
July 16, 2009
I would like to see Gilmore Girls on 4od
July 18, 2009
Will all the series of 8 out of 10 Cats (or more of them) become available?
Is there a reason why series 7 was missed out, and it has 5,6 and 8 (the current)?
It would be great if you could put Ultraviolet on, that was a classic. More people should watch it so they know what sci-fi drama should be like, instead of this Torchwood rubbish they have on the BBC.
July 18, 2009
How come back editions of fav shows like Brothers and Sisters are not available any more – we really used to like watching these – am I correct than I can only watch it up to 30 days after then it’s gone.
Seems like a step down from the previous service to me….
Plus difficult to navigate and the ad’s are a terrible addition
Thanks
Christian
July 20, 2009
It is Monday and the last episode of Big Brother available to watch is Thursdays!!! Help, ive missed 3 whole days of BB gossip because of this….please sort it out
July 21, 2009
Really enjoyed watching the Brookside episodes which are available but would love to see many more (even the whole lot if possible!). Most of all though, I’m hanging in suspense to see the rest of the Sheila Grant storyline.. Will the rest of the episodes (at least up til her attacker is revealed) be made available? It’s terrible to tease us with half a storyline
July 21, 2009
Also, would love to see a few episodes of The Word (not the “Best of The Word” but the original episodes)
July 22, 2009
I’m very disappointed to find that you have changed 4OD, have you never heard of the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it? 4OD was far superior to it’s rivals of BBC iPlayer and ITV.com not only because of the choice but because we didn’t have to deal with the awful adverts. I hope this new service is only suffering from teething problems and will eventually be as easy and enjoyable to use as the old 4OD, please don’t let me down Channel 4.
Please get rid of the adverts, and please can you advise me when series 3 of Brothers & Sisters will be available to watch? I have just finished watching Series 2 on Channel 4 (I can’t pick up More 4 through my Freeview box) and I’m desperate to see what happens in the next series. Please please please say it will be soon!!
Thank you very much!
Ann.
July 22, 2009
Forgive me if I’m in the wrong place. All the comments on here are about old programmes. Perhaps you can explain why it is not possible to watch missed episodes of the current series of ER on catch-up. There are lots of frustrated people commenting in the ER section of this website, but with no response from Channel 4. Thanks.
July 23, 2009
Hi,
Niall Ferguson’s documentaries The War of the World and Empire don’t seem to be available. They were on the old 4OD application so am wondering what the plan is for them?
Cheers,
P
July 24, 2009
Any chance of Da Ali G Shows series being put on?
Thanks
July 24, 2009
Will the pilot of You Have Been Watching ever be available on 4oD? Like many people, I missed this and would really appreciate the chance to see it.
July 24, 2009
After staying in the UK for 12 months… I became quite fond of viewing shows on 4.
Now I’m back in Australia – I attempted to view something on E4OD and was told it is not available in my area… How will I get my fix? Are there licence laws that prevent me from viewing shows in Oz?
July 24, 2009
Congratulations on expanding the 4OD service to include so much archive material! I was delighted to find all the episodes of “Ultraviolet” available to view – a vastly underrated series which really deserved a second season.
I’m particularly interested in tracking down a program from the documentary series “20/20 Vision” which I believe was broadcast in the early 80s. In particular I’m looking for a film which featured the residents of a street in Camden called Georgiana Street, a fair number of which were officially squats, but which the residents were attempting to turn into a housing association – something which was eventually accomplished I believe. However, despite my best efforts I’ve been unable to locate not only the program, but any information about it. I distinctly remember watching it at the time, and it was of particular interest to me because my brother lived there for several years and so did I for a short period.
Is there any information you can give me, and is there any likelihood that the film, or any of the rest of the series will be available to view in the upcoming future?
Otherwise delighted with what I’ve seen so far…keep it up!
July 27, 2009
will any old episodes of the Jonathan ross show the last resort be able to view?
thank you,
July 28, 2009
I really would like to be able to watch Gilmore Girls too.
July 29, 2009
Dear friends from channel4,
I would love to watch again Desperate Housewives. Before we could watch the last 4 episodes, but now none of them are available. In the episode comments there are at least 50 people complaining about the same. For all the fans of Desperate Housewives, the new site is worse than the old one, since what’s the point of having a page with the name of the episode if you cannot watch it? Are you going to make the last episodes available at some point?
August 2, 2009
Ooh! Just thought – The Harry Hill Show!
I’d love to see that again!
August 3, 2009
I’d love to see the two series of Sean Lock’s TV Heaven Tell Hell put up soon.
August 3, 2009
I can’t find Big brother from Saturday 1st August 2009. Will it be going online? Please.
August 3, 2009
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if – and when – we should expect series 7 of Hill Street Blues on 4od. Seems strange the other 6 series are there but not the last one.
Info much appreciated,
CPW
August 4, 2009
Will you be putting Samantha Morton’s The Unloved online? I missed the chance to watch this when it was on and I would really like to see this.
August 6, 2009
Any chance of all series of desperate housewives? a lot of people are requesting this.
August 6, 2009
Series 7 of hill street blues please, pretty please
August 7, 2009
Any update on when Graham Norton will be added?
August 8, 2009
I’ve been hoping that Asif would be put onto the web. When I got 4od i was well dissapointed it wasn’t in the archive and it still hasnt been added : (
August 9, 2009
“This Is David Lander” was a great discovery on the old 4oD. I wanted to recommend it to friends, but I discovered it isn’t online anymore. Please bring back this Stephen Fry forgotten gem!
August 10, 2009
Hi, Is there any chance that “Strictly Baby Ballroom” will be added. Some recommend I watch it, and been as you are migrating old footage I thought I might finally get my chance!

Why do you not have the whole series on catchup like the BBC. I have managed to miss most of the current series of the home show due to a faulty digi box but have only been able to catch up on the last couple of shows. I would also like to see the first series again but it is not available.
August 15, 2009
PS also don’t like the streaming instead of the download. The quality is very poor and the sound bad too
August 18, 2009
Dont listen to em, streaming is fine, they just need faster connections. Tell you what I need though….GAMES MASTER! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
August 18, 2009
Lee, ok for you to glibly say get a faster connection but due to location, that is not possible
August 18, 2009

August 24, 2009

August 27, 2009
Any chance of us seeing the seige (helicopter crash) from Brookside? – Fantastic couple of episodes would love to see them again!
Please add more Brookie!
August 28, 2009
Apologies for the delay in responding.
So, Games Master – this is still being worked through the process to get it onto the site, and if all things go smoothly, it should be live online next month. Thumb Bandits is currently being looked at, I’ll let you know if we can publish this series later.
For those asking about Ultraviolet – it is available, you can watch it here http://www.channel4.com/programmes/ultraviolet
Big Brother is being looked at currently, I’ll get an update soon. Ditto Brookside.
Due to clearance issues, we are unable to put any episodes up for Rise, Big Breakfast and TFI Friday. We also can’t publish Musicality; Clive Anderson Talks Back; 8 out of 10 Cats series 1, 2 and 3 and Strictly Baby Ballroom I’m afraid. Apologies.
I’m afraid we only have the rights for US shows for a limited period (usually 30 days after the first transmission). This is why we can’t keep up for long periods of time episodes from US series like Brothers and Sisters and Desperate Housewives. This is also the reason why you might see ER or a similar US show on TV, but the VOD episodes aren’t available online. For ER, the VOD episodes were available to watch when the series was first broadcast on More4, but weren’t available when it was repeated later in the year on Channel 4 – we only had the rights to publish the episodes after the first transmission.
Peter F – both Empire and The War of the World are due to go online soon, they should be available in the next two months.
Nic Watson – same goes for This is David Lander. It should appear on channel4.com in the next few months.
I’ll also ask about series 7 of Hill Street Blues, As If, The Harry Hill Show, Jonathan Ross, Sean Lock’s TV Heaven Telly Hell, Gophers and Demolition Detectives.
Regards
Jen

Thanks Jen…. Games Master was just amazing and nothing has touched it since, despite videogames being one of the biggest forms of media. And Thumb Bandits was pretty good too along with Bits. Thanks again!
August 29, 2009
What happened to Benefit Busters Episode 2 on 4od?
Is it likely to reappear? Or is there a repeat coming up?
August 30, 2009
Big
((( for no Musicality! Had been waiting patiently for it to be added – what’s the reason? Is it available for purchase anywhere instead??!

Is there any chance of getting the Samantha Morton directed ‘The Unloved’ up here? I missed it first time round and have been dying to watch it!
September 1, 2009
I’m just adding a post to call for Gamesmaster too, Series 2 was probably the best of the lot, way back when the SNES was a thing of wonder! I’d really really love to see that again Jen!

Hey there
first just wanted to say that I love the new service. I watched the first of Jamie Oliver’s new series on the website last night and it worked perfectly without a hitch! Much better than iplayer which buffers continuously for me, and itv which made me sit through un-skippable adverts. Well done channel4!
My question is this… I’m a newly qualified teacher and think that channel4’s religion programmes are amazing, particularly this latest series (Revelations last episode). However I would desperately love to be able to download and keep these programmes to use in lessons. I havn’t been aware of them long enough to have taped the series, and know there are many other religion and culture programmes I have missed that would be invaluable to school children. Is there any way of getting hold of them in hard copy?
Streaming is great for me to watch at home but school firewalls and poor computer equipment mean it’s not an option for lessons. Plus I need to be able to guarantee the availability of my lesson resources.
Any help or advice would be amazing
keep up the good work channel4 it is much appreciated

Will we be seeing last Friday’s Placebo documentary on 4OD, or repeated at any point? I fell asleep (as did several others!) and missed it. Having read many comments on Placebo forums, we’d love another chance to see this.
September 15, 2009

September 15, 2009
Hi, please can you put Running In Heels on 4OD????
September 22, 2009
Hi Jen,
I also landed here after a laborious search for Running in Heels on 4oD, E4, and finally good old Google. Is this going to be added to 4oD? I only found out this show existed, and there’s no catch-up

I missed the first episode of True Blood and it isn’t availabel on 4oD. The second episode is on there though, so I’m hoping you will be able to make the first one available too! I love it and i’m gutted i don’t know what happened in the first episode!! Thanks
October 16, 2009
@Melissa. We only have the rights to make True Blood available on demand for 7 days after it’s first been on TV. This is often the case with US shows.
There’s a short synopsis of what happened here: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/true-blood/episode-guide/series-1/episode-1 .

October 26, 2009
Hi,
can you please please please put Longford up on 4OD, i presume you can’t because it was made by HBO films but I’m sure there was alot of C4 money involved as well. It was one of the best C4 dramas to be shown this decade and deserves to be seen by more people.
I was also wondering why C4 news does not come up on 4OD, iplayer shows newsnight, and the best news programme available should be available to as wide and audience as possible. Finally whats up with ther being no daily show with Jon Stewart????? OK rant over keep up the otherwise good work and strive for perfection.
Turrah
Alex

@HAzbo Yes. It’s fallen off the service for some reason. It’s meant to be there. Will be back in the next day or two. Thanks for spotting!
