Programmes by category
Categories (sometimes labelled genres on other broadcaster sites) already power the related shows box that gets displayed on the right-hand sidebar of every programme page, but until now, you couldn’t get all of our comedy programmes, say, listed in one place.
We’ve just released our Programmes by Category pages into the wild. An example is the Comedy area. You can discover these pages in a number of ways. The first is by clicking on any of the categories that are listed in the black strip to the right of the Programmes A-Z’s ‘what’s hot’ area. The second is by clicking on the category name when it appears in the summary box on the programme’s page.
The programmes by category pages serve a simple purpose for now – they simply list the programmes in each category in alphabetical order, and display the latest five video clips from any programme that’s been ‘tagged’ with that category. So now drama or comedy lovers can come to one place for their video fix, instead of hopping between their favourite Channel 4 programme sites.
We’ll be adding some extra details to these pages in the future so watch this space. In the meantime, if there are features to this area of the site or others, please suggest them in the comments below.
