Jody Cundy explains his outburst
Yesterday track cyclist Jody Cundy was disqualified from the C4-5 1km time trial after a controversial false start.
The Beijing 2008 double gold medallist’s subsequent outburst sent shockwaves through the Paralympic world. I caught up with Cundy this morning after he qualified for his secondary event – the 4km C4 individual pursuit – where he talked through the moments immediately following his disqualification.
Having placed third in the this morning’s qualifiers, this afternoon Cundy will be battling for bronze.

I believe his outburst was justified. I think most people would have reacted the same under the circumstances. It’s just unfortunate he did it in public.
