Tweetwatch: Will Bayley’s Brit School Buddies Triumph At The BRIT Awards
Tweetwatch (n.) – a regular feature in which That Paralympic Blog unearths very best tweets from the athletes who will be competing at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Today’s top tweet comes from @WillBayleyTT:
Last night saw lofty warbling Brit School Of Performing Arts alumna Adele triumph at the BRIT Awards – and it’s left former schoolmate and Paralympic table tennis star Will Bayley feeling a little bit off beat.
Since dabbling as a drama student at the Croydon based Brit School in his teens, Will put his acting career on hold at the age of 16 and instead went in pursuit of Paralympic glory. In six months’ time, quite probably Adele, fellow Brit School graduates and BRIT Award nominees Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks, as well as a global audience of billions will be watching Will and the rest of the ParalympicsGB team waltzing around the Olympic Stadium at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony – before he goes on to hoover up as many medals as possible in the class 7 table tennis.
Like the BRIT Awards, London 2012 is all about showing off extraordinary talent. So steady on Will – half a year from now you too will be making old acquaintances feel strange, when they tune in to watch you triumph.
