Jeremy Corbyn: meet the man whose words you’ll speak

Jeremy Corbyn asked his shadow cabinet to  welcome Seamus Milne to the meeting today. You’ll all have read his columns over the years, he said, of the veteran Guardian columnist. Now you’ll be reading them out. You could, I’m told, have heard a pin drop.

The two  camps in Labour are keeping a lot of their nascent civil war under wraps, both sides wondering when the moment of real reckoning and public hostilities will truly come.

One shadow cabinet member said he thought it would be when the Corbynistas go for the current general secretary and try to replace Ian McNichol (prior to replacing many party offiicials centrally and regionally).

Word has it that the favoured candidate of the Corbynistas is Unite’s Jenny Formby. “That’s when I go over the top,” one member of the shadow cabinet said.
