Clashes on the economy, immigration and coalitions – but the questioners have the upper hand

Would a coalition of all the talents be a good idea? David Cameron has repeated his line that he would act responsibly if the result demanded some sort of cooperation. Nick Clegg says it is better that politicians should try to work together … don’t believe it’ll be Armageddon if there’s a hung parliament.

Gordon Brown is talking about the economy and how the Tories want to cut early. But he does say the voters are the boss. David Cameron is talking about National Insurance. This, if the polls are right, is a gift question for NC … if it’s your view he says that you think “no one deserves a majority” then that’s just fine.

Boy do the voters think the politicians don’t deserve anything.

Gordon Brown tends to frames the debates because he is happier running away from the subject to get to his destination sound bite. But do the voters hear those sound bites? Are they a bit deaf to GB? He hasn’t done himself particular harm here. He’s got out all the messages he wanted to.

How make immigration fairer? This was the first question subject last week, but it is high up the voters’ interests.
The answers, not surprisingly, sound familiar.

The winner so far? The questioners.
