Channel 4’s very own Hugh is back and ready to get down in the shrubbery with a new series of River Cottage….
Having taken on Tesco in Channel 4’s Great British Food Fight, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall returns to River Cottage HQ for a brand new series that explores and celebrates the very best food that spring and summer have to offer.

As always, Hugh rustles up a range of impressive dishes, using the finest seasonal produce that is available and tasty right now. From peas to strawberries, Hugh’s picking ‘em. But it’s not all work and no play – there’s parties galore with Hugh throwing a sheep shearing party, making a boozy prickly gorse flower brew and hosting an almighty great strawberry festival.
The launch of the land linking website Landshare has been a huge success, and Hugh will also be celebrating this success during the show, with a look into the benefits and brilliance of the scheme to get people ‘growing their own’.
Get your wellies on – show launches at 8pm, 3rd June on Channel 4.

Hi Hugh – Just to say we find your programme really interesting. We moved to France to have a better way of life and grow and produce our own food. We have a large veg patch and 6 chickens. We have several fruit trees, plums, pers and also a medlar. We too hope to start producing birds for the table. Looking forward to your new show.
Hugh was saying tonight (04/06/09) that continental veal is raised in small pens. Well, in this part of France, the Limousin, all veal calves are raised with their mothers in the field. Please don’t lump us all together – our local veal is more naturally raised than that featured in the programme!
Is River Cottage an advocate of gluten free food! ?
