Stand-Up Comedy and a Stand-Up Row

Several comedians walk into a massive venue… On Tuesday 30th March, many of the UK’s top comics will stand up to be counted for Channel 4’s Comedy Gala. This event at the O2 arena promises to be the biggest live stand-up show in British comedy history.

Acts confirmed include Alan Carr, Bill Bailey, Catherine Tate, David Mitchell, Fonejacker, Jack Whitehall, Jack Dee, James Corden, Jason Manford, Jo Brand, John Bishop, Jonathan Ross, Kevin Bridges, Lee Evans, Mark Watson, Michael McIntyre, Noel Fielding, Omid Djalili, Rich Hall, Rob Brydon, Ruth Jones, Sean Lock and Shappi Khorsandi, to name quite a few.

Profits from ticket sales will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, which raises money for one the world’s leading children’s hospitals. So what can you expect to see on the night?

To find out more and book tickets, visit the website. Of course, you don’t need to wait until the end of the month to have a laugh, you can see many of these comedians right here, right now on 4oD.

We’ve got both Alan Carr and Jack Dee performing stand-up, in Tooth Fairy Live and The Jack Dee Show (I’ll let you work out who’s in which). But you can also watch David Mitchell in Peep Show, Lee Evans in The World of Lee Evans, Sean Lock and Jason Manford (and many others) in 8 0ut of 10 Cats and Fonejacker in, er, Fonejacker.

There’s also some unintentional comedy on Channel 4 this week in Coach Trip. The fourth series of this unique travel show took to the road two weeks ago, and things are hotting up – if not always nicely – on Brendan’s bus. Visit the site for exclusive interviews and video blogs from the man himself, or get a glimpse of what all the fuss is about in this hilarious clip from Tuesday’s show. Enjoy!
