If you like films, we’ve got good news for you. Our Film4 site has just undergone a major overhaul. It’s now much more closely aligned with the Film4 channel, with better TV listings and more in-depth features on forthcoming Film4 productions.
Alongside the latest trailers and reviews of major cinema releases, the new site hosts exclusive video interviews with movie makers and shakers such as Danny Boyle. So how does the world famous Oscar-winning director of Slumdog Millionaire keep his feet on the ground? Find out here…
Fans of Channel 4’s Brass Eye and Nathan Barley will be also be delighted to hear that Chris Morris’ eagerly awaited cinema directorial debut, Four Lions, is on its way. The Film4 site features an interview with Morris prior to the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and hosts a blog from producer Mark Herbert about the premiere itself.
As you might expect, any film made by Chris Morris does not arrive unburdened by controversy. And choosing to make a comedy about a jihadi terrorist cell in modern Britain probably didn’t help… To help make up your own mind about whether extremism is a suitable subject for satire, here’s a clip.
Of course, you don’t have to wait until the release of Four Lions to watch comedy from Chris Morris. Both Nathan Barley, which he co-wrote with Charlie Brooker, and the incredible Brass Eye are available right now on our 4oD service on Channel4.com.
On a slightly gentler tip, here’s a clip of Morris with his actor hat on, starring as alpha male Denholm Reynholm in The IT Crowd. Look out for a new series of this award-winning sitcom coming up soon on Channel 4 – filming starts in March this year.
And in the meantime, remember there’s no ‘i’ in ‘team’…
