Video: Manufacturer Foxconn ‘confirms’ Apple iTV launch

appleopening Video: Manufacturer Foxconn confirms Apple iTV launch

Will people queue round the block for an iTV? Probably

It’s official, well sort of, Apple is to launch its own TV set.

According to the CEO of Foxconn the Chinese company that makes most of Apple’s shiny gadgets, the company is producing a high definition TV, complete with voice recognition system Siri, video calling through Facetime and iTunes integration. A while  ago, I detailed the features of the iTV thanks Apple patents we found.

The name? Well it seems it’s still iTV, unfortunately the name of one of Britain’s best known companies.

I reported on a lot of these rumours before, including how Steve Jobs apparently offered to buy the name ITV from ITV (the broadcaster).

The CEO of Foxonn, Terry Gou, has a habit of revealing the details of Apple products just before they’re announced.

Apple don’t comment on rumours, so I didn’t bother calling the company.

Here’s a report I made earlier, literally.
