Video: AOL to launch an iPad only magazine Editions
AOL is to continue its evolution from an internet provider to a content producer with the upcoming launch of an iPad only magazine, Editions. The company have been tight lipped as to what we should expect but it follows the launch of Project by the Virgin Group and the soon to launch iPad only Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper The Daily.
What we do know is that Editions is being touted as “the magazine that reads you” and the company has posted an amusing video on YouTube to describe how they got to that phrase. It did make me wonder if Editions is going to be a Flipboard style application that pulls in content from your Facebook and Twitter streams as well, perhaps enhanced by AOL’s growing content archive.

Benjamin,
The only thing preventing total demise of hard copy print newspapers is the continuance of over sized, heavy, solid-state receiver hardware.
Once that is replaced by paper-style tactile foldable receivers the game will be up. Hand sized mobile phones are too small for practical reading purposes.
