This is fascinating, potentially epoch making for both Hollywood but also for Facebook, here's why. It allows the film industry to dis-intermediate their market, get rid of distributors, cinemas, rental companies, broadcasters and so many other middlemen and go straight to their consumers. But it also shows that Facebook Credits can be used for more than just buying a virtual cow on FarmVille, they can be used to pay for products everyone wants. In my opinion this is the first move in creating a global currency.
