In defence of the show it is very rare that George asks for more money. I think it's only happened two or three times. Also the house wasn't half finished - it was 95% finished! George put the plumbing in to the master en suite, which in itself is expensive, but ran out of cash for the fixtures and fittings. Despite not quite finishing, the amount of structural changes and complete redesign make £123K look like an amazingly cheap price to me

Just been watchin your programme The Home show. I feel quite annoyed that you mis- led the couple who had taken part in your show. The couple had handy over £123,000 the top end of their budget and at no point the couple wasnt informed of the changes to their property and the compromise that George the presenter had to make and leaving their project half finished with no en-suite and storage in the couples bedroom. Since watching your programme I have notice that there is always more money needed to be handed over. Why is this and how can this be allowed? The point of having a bugdet is so you dont over spend!!!

Whilst i did not see Property Snakes & Ladders personally, Ms Beeney has caused quite a stir within our industry as her comments have misled the vast majority of people who watched this program. Firstly intumescent paints may reduce the spread of flame but do not improve the overall integrity of a door and certainly would not provide sufficient protection to safeguard the building users. Secondly i would recommend that advice is taken from organisations such as the British Wood Working Federation or The Intumescent Fire Seal Association before embarking on such a project. in my opinion a little knowldege is very dangerous.
