For us the biggest concern was getting planning permission as on the show this often seems to be an issue. We looked online and found a really useful website doineedplanningpermission.co.uk that gave us lot of helpful information. Betternest were great, provided realistic build cost assesments and market appraisals and a project that gave us the space we needed without planning permission.. was watching the show the other night thinking how lucky we have been. Now I know what's involved I will try to watch. We built a house (to sell) and put it on the market around Easter 08, the market went phut so we moved in last November. We were lucky though!
